Hello world!

30th May 2010.

Welcome to my blog,  I’m very new at this and I will be learning as I go.  I plan to have lots of info and photos to share about the (quilting) things I get up to in my studio.

But for starters here’s a photograph of one of my quilt designs/patterns.  It’s called Mid 19th Century Star Quilt.

I love 19th cent quilts, Medallions & eight-pointed stars so this is the result.

I am busy producing the pattern for my newest quilt, Banyan Tree Medallion. The quilt has been a collaborative sewing effort between myself and the Goldfields Quilters Inc.  That is, they asked me to design and coordinate the making of the Raffle Quilt for this year’s Goldfields Quilters Biennial Exhibition in Castlemaine in October.  Such a lot of interest has been shown in the quilt that I decided to take the advice of  friends and “do a pattern”.  I’ll be posting a photo of it soon to whet your appetite.

I hope you’ll check in regularly to see what else I’m doing, I’d love you to leave a comment.

Talk soon,

Margaret

PS I know the date’s wrong, there seems to be a ‘glitch’ in something.  That’s a job for another day.
